We are planning for our next summer therapy camp to children with special needs in Rowan County.
Our summer camps have been hosted by North Hills Christian School each summer and we greatly appreciate their support!
Dates and Times
Summer camp will be held from 8:30am until 11:30am on Mondays in July - 07/10, 07/17, 07/24, and 07/31. The camp is free to families, thanks to grants awarded from the Woodson and Robertson Foundation and donations from local businesses and individuals.
Applications for camp open May 1st each year and are accepted until June 30th.
Summer Therapy Camp is an inclusive therapy camp for children aged 3-10 with special needs and their typically developing peers. We believe strongly in an inclusive model for learning, as children of all abilities benefit from learning together.
Summer Therapy Camp is literacy-based with themed units taught utilizing preschool-early elementary level books and paired with planned field trip experiences for hands-on learning. Each child will receive several books with corresponding manipulatives and activities that are theirs to keep at the end of the camp.
Bridging the Gap
The purpose of Summer Therapy Camp is to bridge the gap for children who may have limited access to therapy services over the summer, whether due to financial or geographic constraints, or due to the typical gap in school-based therapy services over the summer.
We strive to help children with special needs continue their developmental progress through participation in Summer Therapy Camp so that they will not lose skills over the summer.
We are currently accepting registrations by phone for adult volunteers to provide 1:1 assistance to our campers.
Please call Ashley at 704-798-4879 for more information about becoming a volunteer.
